Dayle Southwell has been called up to the England C squad to face holders Slovakia under 21s in the International Challenge Trophy match.

The striker, who has netted 54 times in two seasons with the Pilgrims, missed out on a call-up to Paul Fairclough’s squad last year due to undergoing a hernia operation.

But now the former Grimsby Town man believes it will be second time lucky as he is named in the 16-man squad to represent the Three Lions’ non-league outfit on Sunday, June 5 (KO 2pm).

SQUAD: Brandon Hall (GK), Ebbsfleet United FC; Jamie Butler (GK), Hemel Hempstead Town FC; Sam Habergham, Braintree Town FC; James Bolton, FC Halifax Town; Ben Heneghan, Chester FC; Sean Raggett , Dover Athletic FC; Jack Holland, Bromley FC; Jake Gallagher, Aldershot Town FC; Alex Woodyard, Braintree Town FC; Dan Wishart, Sutton United FC; Jon Leesley, Alfreton Town FC; John Goddard, Swindon Town FC; Elliott Whitehouse, Nuneaton Town FC; Dayle Southwell, Boston United FC; Omar Bogle, Grimsby Town FC; Jordan Williams, Barrow FC.
