FORMER Boston United player-manager Lee Canoville has joined Spalding United on a two-year deal.
And there are also rumours that released Pilgrims winger Ryan Semple could be joining him at the Sir Halley Stewart Playing Field.
Canoville left York Street at the end of last season, citing a new challenge after being told his joint-manager position was being made redundant.
And now the 31-year-old former Arsenal trainee has agreed to join Pat Rayment’s big-spending Tulips as they bid to force their way out of the United Counties League Premier Division, in a story broken today by The Standard’s sister paper the Spalding Guardian.
That means Canoville will spend next campaign up against the likes of Boston Town, Holbeach United, Deeping Rangers and Sleaford Town in a division packed with Lincolnshire derbies.
