Kaine Felix can’t wait to take to the pitch to face Aston Villa this afternoon.
The new Boston United signing made his debut a week ago, scoring as the Pilgrims beat a Norwich City XI 3-1 at the Jakemans Stadium.
Today, the Premier League Villains are expected to bring a youthful side for United’s latest warm-up match (KO 3pm).
And pacy winger Felix belives that his club’s clutch of high-profile pre-season fixtures - Nottingham Forest and Sunderland will also send sides over - will make it easy to get the adrenaline pumping.
He said: “They’re amazing games, when I first heard about them I just wanted to leave work, I was that excited.
“As soon as I heard about them I though ‘oh my gosh, I’m pro already’.
“Like I say, againsty Norwich it was a great exprience.
“They had (Sebastien) Bassong - a first team player - out. He’s played for the Cameroon national team and it’s just a great experience to say you’ve been on a pitch with those sort of guys.”
But Felix knows pre-season is not just about rubbing shoulders with players in famous strips.
He also believes these matches can help his game improve.
“Obviously, they move the ball a lot quicker,” he added.
“It teaches you to get on the ball quicker and to react quicker.”
