TONY Edwards netted his second hat-trick in five days as Boston United Reserves won their Lincolnshire League derby at Swineshead Institute.

Mitch Eustace and Nick Bishop were also on target for United, while Jack Houghton grabbed a consolation for Swineshead, who finished the game with nine men.

Institute took a 12th-minute lead as striker Jack Houghton made no mistake when he broke through the Pilgrims’ back line.

However, Eustace levelled a minute later, firing home after Scott Lowman’s free-kick was nudged on by Edwards.

Boston took the lead on 16 minutes as Edwards converted Tom Sergeant’s knock down.

A minute after the break and the defending champions extended their lead.

Sergeant’s knock down was converted by Edwards, who had already grabbed a hat-trick in Friday’s 6-0 drubbing of Lincoln United Reserves.

United added their fourth goal three minutes, Eustace’s deep corner being volleyed home by Bishop.

Ryan Barker and Paul Clarke were both dismissed before the end of the contest, receiving second yellows for hacking down Edwards as he looked through on goal.

But the United forward completed his hat-trick in between the dismissals — heading home Steve Lovett’s cross.
