BOSTON United winger Jamie Yates has joined Blue Square Bet North rivals Gainsborough Trinity.

The wide man told managers Jason Lee and Lee Canoville after Friday’s end of season party at the Pilgrim Lounge.

It is believes that Yorkshire-based Yates has been offered a double-your money deal by the Blues, as they attempt to build-upon their dismal 2010-11 campaign, where they spent most of the season hovering above the drop zone.

However, some good news for the Pilgrims saw them re-sign four of last season’s squad during the bash.

Goalkeeper Paul Bastock, defender Gareth Jelleyman, midfielder Danny Sleath and striker Marc Newsham will remain at York Street for a further year.

Defender Kevin Austin and winger Ryan Semple have also agreed to remain at the Jakemans Stadium, while Canoville and Lee are still hoping to persuade Shaun Pearson, Anthony Church and Kieran Murphy to remain, although retaining even one of the trio could be seen as a coup.

Elswewhere, Lawrie Dudfield has opted to retire.
