Boston United will face King’s Lynn Town in a pre-season friendly tonight... but can we expect any goals?
The Pilgrims will travel to the Walks this evening for their final pre-season friendly.
However, this isn’t a fixture that has always promised goals.
The past two times United have arrived in Norfolk to face the Linnets, the match has ended goalless.
Pre-season warm-up matches in 2006 and 2004 ended with both sides drawing a blank.
And to make matters worse, the last competitive match between the two sides - back in April 24, 2000 - was also a goalless draw.
On that occasion, United had already been crowned the Dr Martens Champions.
However, the Linnets bossed the game but failed to convert two penalties.
In between those two goalless friendlies was a practice match at the Walks, just five weeks into the 2004-05 season.
The contest was arranged hastily to give much-needed minutes to a number of Pilgrims, including former England ace Paul Gascoigne and new recruit Tam McManus, who was on show for the first time following his loan switch from Hibernian.
Kick off tonight is 7.45pm.
