Scott Garner wants to celebrate his century in style.
The Boston United captain and teammate Carl Piergianni could both be making their 100th appearances for the Pilgrims during Monday’s Bank Holiday bonanza at home to National League North rivals Tamworth.
“It could be mine and Pidge’s 100th games, so it’s something to look forward to,” Garner told The Standard.
Piergianni, who is suspended for Saturday’s clash at Gainsborough, has played 99 games for United - all of them starts.
Garner has made 97 starts and one appearance from the bench so far.
If he plays at the Northolme and is then selected for Monday’s match then he will reach treble figures.
However, Garner knows that the Lambs will be desperate to avenge last season’s 2-0 defeat at the Jakemans Stadium.
Goals from Dayle Southwell and Jake Hall ended Tamworth’s play-off hopes on that April day.
“It was Bank Holiday last season as well, good crowd, great atmosphere and a good result,” Garner added.
“Hopefully, we can get a similar result this year.”
