Pilgrims conditioning coach Dean West has been tipped for a bright future in management.

The 40-year-old spent two spells at York Street as a popular full back and speedy striker.

And now he is back, learning the ropes, as part of Graham Drury’s backroom staff.

“If he can get to be as good as he was as a player then he’ll become a fantastic coach,” Drury said.

“I had the pleasure of him playing for me.

“He was player of the year when we won the league (at Corby Town).

“He’s a fantastic professional and the hardest working person you can wish to have alongside you.

“He’ll give everything he’s got.”

West made eight appearances and scored seven goals during a loan spell in 1993-94, before turning out 27 times in 2004-05 as a right back.
