Expect goals galore as Boston United host Hednesford Town today.
This afternoon’s contest at York Street will see the Skrill North’s two highest scorers facing off against one another.
The Pilgrims have netted 62 times in their 30 league matches to date, with only their opponents bagging more goals.
In their 31 contests, the Pitmen have netted 65 times.
At the same time, both United and Town have conceded the most goals out of the Skrill North’s top 10 sides.
Boston have shipped 46 goals this season, with Hednesford picking the ball out of their net 50 times.
In fact, just four teams have conceded more than Hednesford in the division this campaign, and two of them are basement sides Gloucester (53) and Workington (55).
Bradford Park Avenue (55) and Gainsborough Trinity (54) are the other two, while Vauxhall Motors have also conceded a half century of goals.
This swashbuckling style may suit today’s teams as they both sit in the division’s play-off spots, but were it not for defensive frailties at times, either side could well be sat higher up in the standings.
Hednesford have kept five clean sheets in the Skrill North this season, but have conceded in all of their past 13 league matches.
Boston’s last shut-out came four matches ago, in their 6-0 drubbing of rivals Gainsborough Trinity.
United have kept one more clean sheet than their rivals.
The striking prowess of both teams is also evident, with Boston failing to score in just five league matches and the Pitmen only firing blanks on three occasions - against North Ferriby twice, and Brackley Town.
Hednesford’s leading scorer remains Elliott Durrell, although the 17-goal hotshot left for Wrexham in January.
Boston can boast the Skrill North’s leading marksman Marc Newsham (20) and joint-sixth-placed Ricky Miller (14) in their ranks.
Miller netted twice when a patched up Pilgrims lost 4-2 at Keys Park in January.
The Pitmen sit in third spot in the table, two places and six points ahead of United.
Kick off is at 3pm.
