Dennis Greene is calling on his Boston United squad to begin 2014 in style.

The Pilgrims manager is hoping that the new year can bring in a return to winning ways.

Boston are without a victory in their past five matches in all competitions.

And as the boss prepares to return to his former club Histon today (KO 3pm), his main target in three points.

“We’ve got to get back to winning ways,” Greene said.

“Hopefully, we’ll go in good spirits and good confidence.”

United were held to a goalless draw by the Stutes on Boxing Day.

But after a much improved performance on Saturday - the 2-1 defeat at AFC Telford United - Greene believes his side are on the ascendency.

He added: “There was no disagrace in losing.

“I can’t fault the lads - their commitment, effort and drive. They’ve worked their socks off and thats a platform for us.”

United are hoping that strikers Spencer Weir-Daley and Ricky Miller could both be available, following injury.
