Gregg Smith will make his Boston United debut as the Pilgrims go in search of their first points of the season.

The target man sat out the opening two games of the National League North campaign - defeats to Stalybridge Celtic and Harrogate Town - due to suspension, after picking up 17 yellow cards last term.

But now available for selection, Smith has been given the nod by Dennis Greene and will join Waide Fairhurst in attack.

United have Ollie Price, Nat Brown, Shane Clarke and Marcus Marshall ruled out through injury.

Newly-promoted Darlington began their season with a 2-2 draw at Altrincham, relegated from the National League last season.

The Quakers - who feature ex-Pilgrim Liam Marrs in their squad - didn’t play in midweek.

Kick off will be at 3pm.
