Corby Town have made an approach for Boston goalscorer Mark Jones - but the forward has told his Blue Square Bet North rivals that he’s going nowhere.

Jones received a voicemail from his former club, attempting to bring him back.

But the big front man - who bagged a brace from the bench as United won 3-1 against Oxford City today - is settled at York Street.

“I had a voicemail left on my phone from them asking if I could give them a call, but Boston’s a great club and they’ve treated me well,” Jones said.

“I rang Graham (Drury, manager) straight away and said about it because it’s the first I’d heard.

“I’ve not got in contact with them.

“I want to stay at the club, work hard and get some goals.”

Marc Newsham put Boston ahead before Adam Learoyd levelled.

Jones then arrived from the bench to grab his 12th and 13th of the campaign as United moved to within three points of the play-off spots.
