Marc Newsham says he will have no hesitation to step up if Boston United are awarded a penalty against Bradford Park Avenue on Saturday.

The striker has only ever failed to convert one spot kick in his Pilgrims career, and that was in the away clash against Park Avenue this season.

With the last kick of the game - and United trailing 2-1 - he saw his penalty saved.

But now he wants revenge.

He said: “If we get a penalty I’ll definitely want it.

“I missed one at their place and it still plays on my mind a little bit.

“But if there’s one next week I’ll step up and I’ll take it.”

Newsham’s finish at Worcester City on Saturday was his 27th goal of the season.

He now joins Spencer Weir-Daley as the only two players to score under the Pilgrims’ last six managerial teams.

But now the forward wants to go one better than the 29 goals he scored in his debut season with the club in 2009-10 and score 30 goals in one campaign.
