Ricky Miller must be named as the Skrill North Player of the Month, according to Boston United boss Dennis Greene.
The in-form striker has netted nine times in the past four matches after returning from an ankle injury.
And although Boston still have two matches left to play in January, Greene reckons that Miller’s form should make him a certainty for the accolade.
“If he doesn’t get the Conference North Player of the Month this month then there’s something wrong,” the manager said.
“He’s played four games back from injury and he’s scored nine goals.
“What more can you ask from Ricky Miller since he’s been back? He’s been absolutely first class.”
Miller marked his return to the team on January 4 when his superb chipped effort was the pick of the bunch as the Pilgrims hammered Vaxuxhall Motors 5-2.
He scored his first hat-trick of the month two days later as Boston beat Workington 5-3.
The striker was then a rare highlight for the club during their 4-2 defeat at Hednesford Town, where he found the net twice.
And hat-trick number two came during Saturday’s 4-1 drubbing of Skrill North promotion rivals Solihull Moors, his second - a driven tight-angled volley - already a contender for goal of the season.
Miller has now netted 17 times for Boston in 29 appearances, making him the club’s joint leading scorer for the campaign alongside Marc Newsham.
And he will be looking to add to his tally when the Pilgrims travel to face Altrincham on Saturday (KO 3pm) and host Stockport County next Tuesday (7.45pm).
Boston defender Carl Piergianni was the last United player to receive the Player of the Month award, being handed it in November.
