Boston United manager Dennis Greene is determined his side won’t do basement side Workington any favours.

The Pilgrims make the long trek to Cumbria on Saturday (KO 3pm), desperate for a victory which will consolidate a top-five spot in the Skrill North.

“We just want the three points,” Greene said.

“When you play the teams down the bottom you don’t always have to be at your best to win a fotball match.

“They sometimes lack belief and they’ve only won three games all season (prior to last night’s fixture).

“It’s going to be a tight game but nearly all matches are tight.

“We just need to be able to come out on top.”

Boston have never lost a league match at Borough Park, their only defeat being an FA Cup contest in 2007.

But they travel without keeper Lewis King and defender Carl Piergianni, who are both suspended following red cards picked up at Harrogate.

Sam Vince and Stefan Galinski will replace them.

Greene added: “Vinno goes in goal and he won’t let us down. and Stef will go into defence, he’s done it before.”
