Mills won’t return in time for Boston United’s Worcester City clash

Gary Mills will not be rushed back into action at York Street.

The midfielder has been out of action with a sore Achilles since July 23.

And manager Dennis Greene has ruled him out of playing any part in Saturday’s match with Worcester City.

“It’s too soon,” said Greene.

“Millsy hasn’t played for a month.

“He’s not really trained either because of his Achilles, so you can’t really just throw him straight into Conference North action.”

With Conor Marshall deputising in midfield, Greene knows there’s no rush to get Mills fit.

“He hasn’t really had a pre-season, so he’s a long way from getting into this group at the moment,” he added.

“That’s not the answer at present.

“We’ve had four games and done really well in three and not so good in one.

“If we do that every four games and get seven points every four games we’ll not be far away.”
