Victory at the Victoria Ground saw the Pilgrims move nine points clear of the National League North drop zone.

“It was totally deserved, It wasn’t as much about the performance as getting the result, and the players were outstanding,” Murray said.

The Pilgrims handed debuts to Louis Briscoe, who has joined until the end of the season from Tamworth, and Kidderminster Harriers loanee Mani Dieseruvwe, while Nat Brown returned to the defence following his spell at Hednesford.

Briscoe netted United’s second just before half time, while the contest had already been shaped by two penalties - Adam Chapman putting Boston into an early lead, only for Ross Durrant to deny Blues’ Jordan Murphy from the spot at the other end.

“That was the little bit of rub of the green and luck we’ve been looking for,” Murray added.

“It was nice to get it today and it helped us get the three points.

“When you’re given a penalty you’re always a little worried you may get one given against you, that’s always the case.

“But Ross made a great save and I thought the players were fantastic in getting back into the game, and get another goal, and a professional performance to see it out.

“It was a fantastic finish from Louis, he’s got that in his locker.

“At times it wasn’t pretty, but it wasn’t about the performance.”

Chapman put the Pilgrims ahead in the 22nd minute after Harry Vince was fouled by Ebby Nelson-Addy.

And Briscoe doubled the advantage in the 44th minute, slotting home a low free kick to mark his debut in style.

In between those two goals, Durrant was called upon to deny Robinson from the spot, before the same player fired his follow-up against the crossbar.

The penalty was awarded for Lewis Hilliard’s trip on Nelson-Addy.

Worcester keeper Ethan Ross was called into action to deny Colby Bishop, on his return to Bromsgrove, and Lewis Hilliard, before substitute Dieseruvwe saw a late effort fly wide.
