NEW Pilgrims signing Adam Boyes could make his debut in tomorrow’s Blue Square North Bet contest at Stalybridge Celtic.
Managers Rob Scott and Paul Hurst secured the striker’s signature today after Boyes became a free agent, having left Championship side Scunthorpe United earlier this week.
The 20-year-old made one first team appearance for the Iron after joining in the summer of 2009 from York City.
Boyes has also had a trial with Manchester United, as well as representing England C.
Manager Paul Hurst said: “We welcome Adam onboard. He’s a good player who has recently left Scunthorpe and we look forward to getting him involved with the squad.”
Boyes’ signature may well be a coup for the Pilgrims, but it was believed it would be a defender arriving at York Street this week.
United travel to Stalybridge with central defenders Lee Canoville, Shaun Pearson and Kieran Murphy expected to be ruled out, while Gareth Jelleyman is a doubt as he has an achilles injury.
