SUPERSTITIOUS Boston United are hoping to complete a hat-trick of promotions... by returning to a striped home shirt.
The new 2012-13 home kit - modelled by defender Conor Marshall - is being revealed for the first time today (Wednesday).
Returning to stripes has shown the club’s intentions for the upcoming campaign.
The past two promotions the Pilgrims have earned both came wearing striped kits.
In 2002, the Pilgrims won the Conference league title, booking their place in the Football League for the only time in their history.
Then, in 2009-10, United again wore stripes when they won a trophy treble.
They lifted the UniBond League Cup and Lincolnshire Senior Shield and the UniBond Premier play-off final trophy.
However, stripes do not guarantee success.
In 2007, Boston wore a similar design as they were relegated from League Two.
The kit will be available for the first time at tonight’s fans’ forum.
