THE Pilgrims’ promotion credentials have never been in doubt.
That is the opinion of Boston United’s veteran Kevin Austin.
After 21 years in the professional game, former Trinidad and Tobago international Austin still believes he can collect silverware.
After last year’s play-off semi-final defeat to Guiseley, the 38-year-old is desperate to go further this campaign.
“We’ve got the ability in this side to get promotion – that’s never been in question,” he said.
“We’re disappointed with where we are (in the league table) right now. But we started the season with our sights on going up and we continue to believe that.
“We’ll keep going.”
The big defender reckons that a strong showing against leaders Hyde, albeit a 2-0 defeat, and a 3-1 victory over fellow promotion hopefuls Gainsborough Trinity have shown that United are still well and truly in the title race.
“We’ve gained ground,” he said.
“That’s all we can do is keep on going and picking up points when they’re available.”
