Boston United powered up to fifth in the Skrill North table after a 3-0 win over Guiseley.
The Lions were put to the sword thanks to three second half goals, putting the Pilgrims on 14 points and right on manager Dennis Greene’s tough two-points-per-game target.
The scoring began on the hour mark with a header from defender Carl Piergianni and then Marc Newsham bagged his 91st and 92nd strikes for the club to seal the win.
United now travel to Oxford City on Tuesday night with the chance to go level on points with the division’s top two Brackley Town and Altrincham.
Only the Pilgrim’s county rivals Gainsborough currently lie below The City in the Skrill North table and Mike Ford’s men have lost all three home games so far this season.
The only black mark from the win over Guiseley came when defender Scott Garner was substituted after suffering a nasty facial injury in the first half. Former Norwich City midfielder Mike Clunan was on the bench for the game after signing for the club last week.
