Athletics in Boston is the name which has been given to a new group which aims to increase the availability of athletics in the town.

The group will be based at the Princess Royal Sports Arena.

At present there is a good turn out of athletes to Tuesday training sessions, which are organised and run by four qualified coaches.

The group held a meeting at the PRSA on January 16, in a bid to form a new athletics club.

Sports coach Guy Bull, who is behind the group, said it has been decided the group should be aiming to achieve the following objectives: To produce a list of volunteers who would like to help develop athletics in Boston. To try to find a group of volunteers who would like to help develop the junior and primary school age athletes. To make Tuesday evening sessions more family friendly, so they are inclusive of all ages. To cater for all disciplines including road running and cross-country. To make all activities inclusive to everyone from experienced to less-able athletes.

The next meeting will be at the PRSA on February 27 (7pm).
