Dennis Greene believes that Boston United fans are set for some great entertainment this pre-season.
The Pilgrims host Championship outfit Norwich City at York Street today (KO 3pm).
And as well as new signings Jack Barlow, Dayle Southwell, Kaine Felix and Connor Smythe set to make their first appearances in a Pilgrims shirt, a number of trialists will be given their chances to shine.
“We’ve got some cracking trialists with us right now,” Greene said.
“The fans will love what they see when we get going. There’s a lot of exciting players.”
Greene also paid tribute to his latest acquisitions.
When asked about Felix, the manager stated: “You won’t see quicker in the league this season.”
He added: “Connor’s a good young player and Jack was signed by Hull because they thought he had the potential to play in the Premier League.
“Dayle’s looking really good in training - he’s like a new Marc Newsham and he’ll score plenty of goals, I’m sure.”
Another player getting the thumbs is club captain Scott Garner.
Greene added: “He’s looking better and sharper than ever. He may be a defender but he’s desperate to play up front.
“He’s banging them in in training and even trying Cruyff turns.
“We’ll give him a chance to show what he can do up there at some point. He did a good job moving up front for us last season.”
Norwich are expected to send a youthful XI to York Street, although some first teamers may also be in attendance.
