Dennis Greene admits he doesn’t know whether or not Julian Bennett has a future with Boston United.
The ex-Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace left back has been on trial with the club following a long-term knee injury, and manager Greene was keen to sign him up.
However, Bennett was unable to turn out for Wednesday’s friendly against a youthful Forest side and didn’t report to the Jakemans Stadium for yesterday’s Lincolnshire Cup clash against Lincoln City.
“He’s in my thoughts, but why won’t you reply to my texts?” Greene questioned.
“I don’t know what’s happening with Julian.
“He didn’t get to the game on Tuesday. I’ve tried to get in touch with him and not had a response back.”
Greene would have liked Bennett to feature in those two games to help him improve his fitness following his sustained absence after suffering a knee injury.
“It might be looking like one of them where he needed this game and the game before to help his fitness,” Greene added.
“It’s putting him further back.
“But saying that, Marrsy’s (Liam Marrs) done well there and the back line have looked decent.”
