James Reed is refusing to rule out a return to Boston United.
The teenager saw his Pilgrims contract cancelled on Monday... but he hopes that won’t be the end of his time with the club.
Reed, a youth team product, has made 26 appearances for United since making his first-team debut in 2012.
However, since moving to university in Sheffield in September, the 19-year-old was struggling to commit to training.
But Reed still dreams of returning to the club one day, despite him now being free to find a new side closer to his base.
“If I had another chance to play here I would,” he said.
“Definitely, in the long run. I’m not too sure about the short run.”
Reed’s spell at the club appeared to have fizzled out when he moved away for his studies.
But he did make a one-match return to help the Pilgrims out during their recent defeat at Hednesford Town.
