BOSTON United boss Rob Scott was full of praise for his squad after their hard-fought 2-0 win over Droylsden.

The Pilgrims soaked up the pressure from The Bloods, who are known for their attacking style of play, and caught the visitors on the counter attack during yesterday’s crunch Blue Square Bet North contest.

Goals from Ryan Semple and Adam Boyes were enough to earn Boston the three points, but it was the way the side carried out the game plan that pleased Scott the most.

He said: “It was a pleasing performance. Every single player that was involved today put in a good performance.

“The game plan was to frustrate them and we did that.

“There aren’t many teams out there who play out of the back like they do – so we set things up for the lads to play them differently.

“We set it up – but the players followed it and were spot on.”

United now travel to Stafford Rangers on Tuesday (KO 7.45pm).
