Fans could be called upon to help clear snow from Boston United’s grounds should a pitch inspection pass the test tomorrow (Saturday) morning.

The inspection is due to take place at 8.15am to decide whether the Blue Square Bet North fixture between Boston United and Gloucester City will go ahead.

Boston-based match official Steve Ross made the decision to call the inspection after a first look at the pitch on Friday afternoon proved inconclusive.

Should the pitch pass the 8.15am inspection, volunteers (armed with shovels) will be required from 9am to clear the remaining snow from the playing surface.

The club will announce in the morning what is happening.
