Gary Silk says ‘it’s good to be back’ at Boston United, less than five weeks after previous managher Graham Drury released him.
Silk’s presence was vital on a day when fellow defenders Conor Marshall, Paul Lister and Phil watt all picked up injuries.
After replacing Marshall, Silk told The Standard: “It’s good to be back.
“I’ve missed playing and I enjoy playing football.
“I didn’t think I’d be back, but it’s a good atmosphere in the dressing room.
“I wasn’t expecting to come on as soon as I did, but I got an hour and I enjoyed it.
“A clean sheet is always good as a defender.”
Dennis Greene moved to bring Silk back after replacing Drury saying: “He’s a very good player.”
