Boston United have enough quality up front to cope with the suspensions of Ben Fairclough and Spencer Weir-Daley.
That is the view of their strike partner Marc Newsham.
Newsham says he and Mark Jones are ready to step up as the duo face three-match bans, beginning on November 3, with the derby clash against Gainsborough Trinity.
Newsham is the club’s leading scorer with 10 goals so far this season, while four goals in as many matches sees Jones just one strike behind.
“Spence and Ben are big losses for us, but we’ve got players hungry for their chance,” Newsham told The Standard.
“Jona’s on fire at the minute. He’s scored four in four, so we can’t complain about that.
“I got a goal the week before and the week before that, plus we’ve got players to come in and do good jobs.”
Among those players is 17-year-old Charley Sanders, who made his first-team debut on Saturday.
Newsham added: “He’s come in to training and looked strong and capable.”
