Strength in depth can help us climb table, says Boston United’s Tom Ward

BOSTON United’s squad are in prime condition to make a late burst up the Blue Square Bet North table.

That is the opinion of defender Tom Ward.

Including the Lincs Senior Shield final, the Pilgrims still have to play 14 fixtures in the final nine weeks of the campaign.

However, Ward believes the congested fixture list will play into United’s hands.

He told The Standard: “We’ve got a very strong squad here.

“If other teams get a few niggles by having to play so many games near the end of the season then they might have a few problems.

“We’ve got good players who are waiting to get their chance and want to be in the team.

“It should work to our advantage. Everyone in the squad knows what they’re doing in the team and can do a job.”
