Striker Spencer Weir-Daley has admitted he is growing to love being part of a front three.
After spending most of his career playing as an out-and-out striker, the Boston United attacker has had to reprogramme himself over the past two seasons.
But now he is seeing the benefits of the role.
“I’ll be honest, it took a while to get used to,” he told The Standard.
“It’s different, you feel like you’re taking on a new role.”
Weir-Daley was previously used to hanging on the shoulders of defenders and looking to gain a yard on his markers.
But these days he moves freely between the box and wide positions, which can showcase his link-up skills as well as his eye for goal.
And Weir-Daley is now relishing the fact he can bring more to the team.
He added: “I’m getting the ball in different areas, but I’m enjoying it more.
“I feel like I’m more involved in the game.
“I’m adapting to it.”
