Scott Garner says he hopes that fellow central defender Stefan Galinski will get the credit he deserves for the role he’s played at York Street.
Garner and Carl Piergianni have won plenty of praise for the partnership they have formed in the heart of Boston United’s defence, starting 41 of the Pilgrims’ 45 competitive matches together.
And as well as keeping eight clean sheets as a partnership, they have also chipped in with their fair share of goals - Garner netting eight times and Piergianni on the scoresheet on five occasions.
But there to add support in the heart of defence has been Galinski.
The former Poland youth international has joined his teammates as part of a back three on numerous occasions, also deputising as part of a two-man central defensive unit, as well as filling in in midfield and at right back.
And Garner believes his teammate’s input has been vital for the club.
“He’s been brilliant all year, Stef,” Garner said. “He really secures things up when we go into a back three.
“Between the three of us we get on really well.
“We’re good friends on and off the pitch and that makes us play for each other and work hard for each other.”
Galinski has made a total of 36 appearances this campaign, although 19 of those have come from the bench.
But Garner believes that having him waiting in the wings is only making him improve his game.
He added: “I hope Stef gets the credit he’s due for the whole season. He’s been brilliant throughout, he’s pushed us all the way.
“He’s been unlucky as he hasn’t played as many games as I’m sure he’d have wanted, but he does an important job.”
