The thrill of playing for Boston United has seen Anton Foster happy to hit the road once more.
After years of paying his dues at the likes of Halifax Town, Eastwood, Buxton, Belper and Gedling, the midfielder had tired of being a travelling man, just to get to home matches.
So he decided to drop out of the Blue Square Bet North and begin the season with Sheffield FC, a team closer to home.
It was a lifestyle Foster was happy with... until the Pilgrims came calling.
“I was at Halifax last year, but I dropped down a couple of leagues,” Foster said.
“(Sheffield FC) was on my doorstep, I just got fed up with the travelling.
“But then I got a call from the manager asking if I’d like to come here and I jumped at the chance.”
And now Foster has a spring back in his step.
“I’ve always thought I’d like to play at Boston,” he added.
“I couldn’t turn this down.
“It’s been brilliant, everything I’ve dreamt of.”
