ROB Scott has demanded an instant reaction from his Boston United squad as they look to avenge a derby defeat against Gainsborough Trinity.

The Pilgrims boss is still smarting after Saturday’s lacklustre loss at Worcester City, where Boston went down 2-0.

And now he has a chance to put things right instantly this evening (KO 7.45pm).

“We watched Gainsborough last week and they’re there to be beaten,” declared Scott.

“I’ve said it before. I’m looking for a reaction from the players.”

United travel to face Trinity, who won the New Year’s Day Yellowbelly derby, inflicting a 3-1 defeat onto Boston, courtesy of a Sam Aiston strike and a Ryan Kendall Brace.

Spencer Weir-Daley was on target for Boston.

But the biggest question mark for Scott and fellow manager Paul Hurst is which side to select.

“Do we make wholesale changes or give them another chance?” he pondered.

“We’ve lost a game but I can’t think of many times we’ve lost two on the spin.

“We know it’s our job to get the best out of the players.

“But the players also have to get the best out of themselves.”
