United must keep it simple, says Semple

RYAN Semple says there is no way Boston United will be complacent as they travel to face struggling Stafford Rangers tonight.

Rangers, who sit in the Blue Sqaure Bet North’s bottom two, were thumped 5-0 by Hyde United, who are a place above them in the table, on Saturday.

But Semple knows that if United turn up expecting an easy ride they will be punished... as Boston learned when they scraped a 1-0 victory over basement side Redditch this season, having previously beaten them 9-0.

“Some teams can get complacent against a side down near the bottom, but there’s no way we will do that,” said Semple after scoring the opener in the Pilgrims’ 2-0 victory over Droylsden on Saturday.

“We’ll approach this game with the same attitude we did against Droylsden.

“If everyone does his job properly, with the same effort and desire they showed against Droylsden then we should win the game.

“Nothing’s straightforward, obviously, but we’ll prepare in the right way.”
