ALTHOUGH it is considered to be out of season, the ladies’ section at Kirton Holme Golf Club have continued with their golf, with as many as 20 ladies playing most weeks.
So far only two days have been lost to the weather.
Friendly club competitions will continue throughout February and into March, when the summer schedule will begin once again.
Mary Piper, the new Lady Captain, has settled in well and one of her first jobs was to ensure a good day was had by the 34 ladies who played a nine-hole stableford competition.
Former Lady Captain Vee King took first place, ahead of runner-up Yvonne Prior and Tricia Sharpe, in third.
Tricia also won the nearest the pin on the sixth hole.
The Kirton Holme Captains’ Charity this year is the Butterfly Hospice Trust.
A number of fundraising events are planned, including the Ladies’ Charity Open on April 24.
