Dayle Southwell says he always knew Mark Jones would get his name back on the Boston United scoresheet.
The striker suffered a lean spell in front of goal following his return to the Jakemans Stadium - but after going 16 games without scoring, Jones has netted twice in the past three matches.
“I’m so pleased for him, I’ve always wanted him to score goals,” said Southwell.
Southwell netted a hat-trick on Jones’ return match against Hyde and scored a total of nine times before his strike partner got off the mark.
But the ex-Grimsby Town man was adamant that Jones was always going to chip in.
He added: “He’s been working so hard and he’s now getting the rewards.
“I’m so pleased he’s scoring.
“We always believed in him and knew he could score goals, it was just a matter of time.”
