Chris Woods has been confirmed as Manchester United’s new goalkeeping coach.
The former Kirton schoolboy was one of three members of Everton’s backroom staff who have followed David Moyes to Old Trafford.
Steve Round (assistant manager) and Jimmy Lumsden (coach) complete the trio.
“They bring great qualities in their respective fields and I know that, like me, they feel that this is a challenge to relish,” Moyes said.
Woods is also currently the USA national team’s goalkeeping coach.
As a player, the 53-year-old represented England at two World Cups as understudy to Peter Shilton, but he did play in two European Championships.
He also won the European Cup with Nottingham Forest, again as an understudy for number one Shilton.
