TWENTY-five Boston Grammar School pupils witnessed the final day of the Premier League season, during a visit to Sunderland AFC.
Accompanied by PE teachers Warren Ward and Nigel Wainwright, the youngsters enjoyed a weekend with the Black Cats.
The boys had a session with the club’s coaching staff, followed by matches against north east opposition.
Then it was off to the big match where it appeared that Wayne Rooney’s goal would be enough to clinch the Red Devils the title.
But the boys saw Alex Ferguson and his players and the Manchester United fans’ joy turn to despair when news of the late Manchester City victory filtered through.
On day two the party, had a tour of the Sunderland Academy of Light,
This was followed by further coaching and a five-a-side tournament.
