BOSTON Town are hoping to gain an edge on their United Counties League Premier Division rivals - with support from Glasgow Rangers.
Joint Poachers manager Matt Hocking has used his connections in the game to get his hands on the Scottish club’s pre-season workout schedule.
He said: “I’ve done the workout before and it’s the fittest I’ve ever been for the start of a season. Hopefully, we can all be the same this year.”
Hocking, an ex-Hull City and Sheffield United player, came across the routine while at Southport.
The techniques were being administered by then-boss Peter Davenport and assistant Huw Griffiths, a UEFA A licence holder, who was given the regime by Rangers’ fitness staff.
Now Hocking has got himself a copy and is putting the squad through their paces.
“It’s mainly based around running - sprints to make everyone sharp,” he added.
Rangers may be having financial problems, but the regime helped them be one of the Scottish Premier League’s dominant forces in recent years.
