Boston Town will face King’s Lynn in the FA Cup’s first qualifying round after yesterday’s 4-2 victory at Holbeach United.
The Poachers left Carter’s Park with the win following a contest packed with incident.
The Tigers, who currently top the UCL Premier following five straight victories, led 1-0 at the interval thanks to Danny Spencer.
However, Alex Beck fired the Poachers level before ex-Town keeper Nick Conroy was red carded for fouling Beck.
Ollie Pinner, another former Town player, took his place between the sticks, but his first job was to pick Matt Kennedy’s penalty out of the net.
Gary King levelled almost immediately for United, but further finishes from Callum Walker and Lori Borbely ensured a 4-2 success for the away side.
Town now travel to face Evostik Premier League side King’s Lynn in the next round on September 13, but before that they host Holbeach in league action on Tuesday (KO 7.45pm).
