JACK Smith has ended speculation that he may join Holbeach United – by signing on for another season with Boston Town.
The centre back was linked with a move to Carter’s Park last week, with Tigers boss John Chand talking up the player’s virtues.
But this afternoon, Smith signed on the dotted line with Town.
He joins Michael Wood, Shane Clancy and Chris Wright (all former Boston United players) as the fourth player to pledge his future to new bosses Ian Dunn and Matt Hocking.
“We’re happy he’s signed,” Dunn said.
“We wanted to keep the core of the side together.
“We think the strongest part of the team last season was the defence, so we wanted to keep that here.
“We’ll now look at bringing in a few more midfielders and strikers.”
