BOSTON Town’s rebuilding will be done without defender Jack Smith.
The tough-tackling centre back has opted to join UCL Premier Division rivals Holbeach United.
New Poachers bosses Matt Hocking and Ian Dunn swere hoping to run the rule over last season’s squad during pre-season training.
However, Smith - who was sent off for Town against Holbeach and Spalding United during the past campaign - has opted not to link up with the Tattershall Road side again, after being offered a return to Carter’s Park by manager John Chand.
“Jack can also play in midfield and he’s a real leader, an all or nothing player,” Chand said.
“He’ll give 120 per cent every game and is as committed as they come.
“He’s had a few red cards – including one against us – but his physicality is one of his top qualities.”
Lewis Brooks has already left Boston Town in the close season, opting to take up an offer from Spalding United.
The Tigers have also snapped up ex-Boston United midfielder Harry Deane, who finished last season at Stamford.
