MARTYN Lakin has set his Boston Town squad a target of finishing in the UCL Premier’s top five places.

The Poachers boss has already claimed the league’s one promotion spot will be fought out between big-spending St Neots and King’s Lynn this season.

However, he believes his seventh-placed side can set themselves a target which will make the rest of the clubs in the division take note of the Tattershall Road side’s intentions.

Speaking before last night’s trip to Stewart and Lloyd’s Corby, Lakin said: “We have 14 fixtures left to fit in, which means we will be playing most Saturdays and Tuesdays.

“But we have a committed team and we’ll want to get as many points out of the run-in as possible.

“We’ve got games in hand over Irchester United and Peterborough North Star and have a realistic chance of taking fifth place.

“From our remaining 39 available points we’ve set a target of 30.”

On Saturday Town travel to face league leaders St Neots (KO 7.45pm), before hosting derby rivals Holbeach United in more league action on Tuesday (KO 7.45pm).
