MARTYN Lakin wants to bring a winning mentality to the Boston Town dressing room.
The Poachers boss says that he will spend the summer attempting to bolster his squad with players who have silverware in their trophy cabinets.
Although extremely proud of his predominantly young side so far this season, Lakin thinks a bit of experience could rub off on the rest of the team, especially as his side have now twice missed out on a cup final with narrow defeats in semi-final battles.
He said: “We have a lot of good players at this club, but I think we really need three more signings this summer.
“There are some very good young players, and also some experienced players at the club.
“But right now, Rob (Speechley, Lakin’s number two) is the only person at this club who has experience of winning the United Counties Premier League.”
Lakin added: “We have a good group here, but if we can bring in a few players with a little more experience of winning trophies then we can create a winning mentality at the club.
“That doesn’t mean the players here don’t want success, but they don’t all have the experience of how to go about winning the league.”
