BOSTON Town and Blackstones fought out a goalless draw at Tattershall Road last night.
The result means the Poachers’ unbeaten streak in the UCL Premier has now stretched to six matches.
Right back Loz Lambley made his return to the Town side after agreeing terms with manager Martyn Lakin on Monday night.
After leaving Boston for Holbeach in the summer, the former Rushden and Diamonds trainee returned to Tattershall Road after being released by the Tigers.
And he played his part as a resolute Poachers defence gave nothing away.
Town went close in the first half as Lorand Borbely was narrowly off target with a cross-shot, while Blackstones’ Ben Easson’s cross-shot was deflected to safety.
After the break the football was end-to-end.
Stones’ Andy Buckle was unluckby not to net as he struck the post.
In response, Town’s veteran striker Micky Nuttell came close with a volley from a Matt Oswin cross, and late on the woodwork denied Borbely a home winner.
The clash between these two Lincolnshire rivals was always going to be close, following two tight matches earlier this season.
Stones earned a 1-0 league win, while Town needed penalties to edge past them in the Lincolnshire Trophy, following a 4-4 draw.
