A LEGENDS charity football match between former players from two Boston-area clubs has raised £370.
On Saturday, ex-stars of Wyberton and Cowbridge Rangers went head-to-head at the Causeway Ground.
The contest resulted in a 7-4 victory for Rangers.
Winning goals came from Lee Orrey (four), Mark Wakefield (two) and Jamie Hicks.
Wyberton’s replies came from Neil Featherstone (two) and Mark Welberry (two).
Simon Payling was named as the Dewhurst Trophies Man of the Match.
But the main aim of the event was to raise cash for Action Medical Research, a charity which aims to make medical breakthroughs for children and babies.
Despite torrential rain before kick off, those present were determined to make sure the match went ahead.
Evening entertainment in Wyberton also added to the total which, with othert charitable efforts, currently stands at £1,000.
