Leverton Sheepgate Football Club have raised £1,000 for the Macmillan Cancer Care charity by playing the Dickie Dales Memorial Cup at Boston United’s York street ground against Friskney FC.

And on Friday, the cheque was presented to Sally Farman of Macmillan.

Leverton won the game 1-0.

Team manager Giles Elson said: “I would like to extend my personal thanks to Mick Brown and his Friskney side, Craig Singleton and John Blackwell from Boston United for their kind support.”

The match was sponsored by The Waterfront and Thomas Campbell estate agents.

Referee Dave Bent donated his time to officiate the game and supporters who attended also helped raise the total.
