New-look Wyberton will kick off Lincs League campaign with 'hunger to win'

Wyberton will kick off their Lincs League campaign by hosting Bottesford Town Development on Saturday.

Joint managers Jamie Hanton and Jon Macleod will take charge of their first competitive match following a summer which has seen Ollie Pinner and Alex Beck join from Boston Town.

“When we came in at the start we felt the squad needed a freshen up so we have brought in a mixture of new faces, some with experience and some youth,” Macleod said.

“But all of them have a hunger to win, which is the mentality we want as a team.”

Hanton added: “It’s going to be a long, hard season with the extra teams and quality in the Lincs League now.

“But we’re not here to make numbers up and when it comes to the end of the season we want to be challenging for trophies.

“We can’t wait to get started with the new season, we feel we’ve had a great pre-season.

“All the lads have worked really hard.”

Kick off at The Causeway will be at 3pm.
