Boston United Reserves will spend Christmas Day on top of the Sills and Betteridge Lincolnshire League.

Nigel Vince’s Pilgrims brushed aside table-topping Lincoln United Reserves at the Jakemans Stadium on Saturday... beating them 6-0.

That was enough for Boston to leapfrog the visitors and take their place on top of the tree.

Lewis McKue and Aaron Eyett both grabbed braces for United.

Meanwhile, Ngoni Dongo and Lee Orrey also found the net.

The Pilgrims’ second string will return to action on Saturday.

They host Skegness United at York Street, knowing that victory will see them hold on to top spot going into the new year.

They are currently three points clear of second-placed Skegness Town, who still have three games in hand.
